I was out winter camping. It was about 8 pm. I heard wolves barking and howling about 100 yards from my campsite. I drove down the road and found the wolf tracks. It was within 100 yard of my campsite. They were on a deer migration trail that had crossed the road. I was woken up later on the night by what I would assume was the same pack. They were much further away the second time. I would guess half a mile to maybe a mile away.
